Dexter Streaming: Season 5 Finale Recap

by kcyap27

The season 5 finale of Dexter streaming wasn’t quite the dark and gripping bloodbath of season 4. I read somewhere that the writers and producers were having a hard time imagining how they could possibly “top” season 4’s conclusion. Episodes that shocking and that thrilling only hit a show once, it seems. So, for season 5, they took the show in an entirely different direction – ending with “the big one” birthday party for young Harrison. We’re left with a sense of closure and a dash of optimism at the end, which is a refreshing twist.

Yet, the episode itself had all the makings of a compelling drama. In this episode, Dexter realizes that Lumen has been set up and he’s being led into a trap. Even though the Jordan Chase murder was terribly predictable, the shock came when Deb showed up and confirmed her hunch that there were real vigilantes at work… in fact, a vigilante couple… yet, Dexter and Lumen still escaped the crime scene.

It seemed as though Lumen or Quinn would have to die to make this Dexter streaming season complete, but crafty writers found ways around this and instead, the Lumen / Dexter breakup provided the emotional rollercoaster we’ve come to expect from this show. So this also means there are still two people at large who know what Dexter is up to, which should fuel the drama in subsequent seasons.

The cameos of Julia Stiles and Jonny Lee Miller were absolutely amazing and I would give a standing ovation to both Michael C. Hall (Dexter) and Jennifer Carpenter (Debra), who were exceptionally wonderful in this finale. If you haven’t seen it already, be sure to catch Dexter streaming online!

Personally, I love season 4 than season 5. Season 4 was way exciting and thrilling. I think the producers meant to do that, too much of anything can be boring too. Although, I missed some of the episodes on Season 5 (change of work schedule) I take time watching it here in Dexter streaming, thanks to you, guys, I do not have to spend money renting and paying the penalty on DVDs.

After reading your article, I watch the streaming. I can honestly conclude that I cannot watch it with my children awake, but one thing is for sure, I am going to watch it again.

One of the proofs that the writers behind Dexter are geniuses is the fact that you can rarely find a TV show where the star is a serial killer and we, the audience can relate to him. We actually sided to him and rooted for him. Seriously, it’s not every day we watch TV show and hope that the serial killer gets away with its crime.
